About the artist | |
Grotesque Irrationalism - consider it the opposite of paintings people would buy to match their sofa. Cazals work takes thought to digest yet offers a valuable guide to the audience´s imagination. Those who are not scared of their own drives and instincts will always discover the beauty, the optimism and the satire in his paintings. His drawings are influenced by literature and express a compulsory need to revolutionize. With their humourous touch on one hand and a pathological drive behind his drawings on the other hand, they provoke a sensitive consideration of the theme that sets no limit to ones fantasy. Paintings and drawings are regarded as an object to research, which are intended to clarify the background of human existence, via the genres of expressionism, surrealism, psychological fantastic realism, psychogrammes, satire. On this foundation, Cazals developes this new style - Grotesque Irrationalism. The Singer Cazals: When Cazals sings, he pours his soul into his audience. Without regard for critics he delivers a powerful performance opening the raw of his emotion and the sharp edge of his intellect. A shanty that one may have heard a hundred times before sounds like the first performance when he sings it. A Toselli spring romance aria sounds as if he had written it solely for Cazals to sing it. Cazals performances are far too seldom considering they absorb so much of his energy. But for those who had the fortune to hear him once, they will undoubtedly try to attend each of his performances in the future. | |
