Aysu Günay 1951 yilinda Izmir’de dogdu. Hatay Kiz ögretmen Okulundan mezun olan sanatçi Anadolu Üniversitesi Açik Ögretim Fakültesinde ön lisansini tamamladi. Sanata, ögretmenlik yasamiyla beraber kendi atölyesindeki çalismalarla basladi. Yagliboya tekniginde spatül kullanarak dogayi anlatan sanatçinin eserleri, Yurtiçi ve yurtdisi çesitli koleksiyonlarda yer aldi. 2007’den bu yana sanatçi baski resim çalismalarina agirlik vermis, ayrica yagliboya ve akrilik kullanarak soyut figüratif çalismalar yapmistir. Bu sergide sanatçinin son dönem çalismalari yer almaktadir. Su Grubu kurucu üyesi olan Sanatçi, çalismalarini Izmir’de kendi atölyesinde sürdürmektedir. Aysu Günay, A.I.A.P Uluslararasi Sanatçilar Birligi ¨yesidir. Yurtiçi ve yurtdisi uluslararasi çok sayida karma sergiye katilmis olan sanatçi 20’ye yakin kisisel sergisi açmistir.

Biography

Aysu Günay was born in Izmir, 1951. Completed her high school education at Hatay Girls’ School of Education, graduated from Eskisehir Anadolu University. She has started to study painting at her own studio, when she was working as a teacher. As an artist, she used to express the nature putting spatula in use in her oil paintings. Her works can be found in various collections both in Turkey and abroad. From 2007 on, she has put weight on printing techniques, and abstract figurative works in oilcolours and acrylics. This exhibition features some of her recent works. The artist is one of the founding members of the Water Group and continues producing her works at her own studio in Izmir. She is also a member of AIAP. She has had many group participations in Turkey and abroad, and over 20 solo shows.
